In one of the stand out gourmet beverage activations of 2017, a fourth floor suite at the celebrated hotel was converted into a luxurious den celebrating the world’s finest cognac. Our team merged the suite’s dining room and lounge, placing a back bar in the kitchenette. One wall was re-cladded for bottle display. We added mid-20th Century furniture in the brand’s signature blue and gold, and vintage prints showing Martell advertising from across the decades. The bedroom itself was made into a tasting room separated, to visiting media and guests’ delight alike, by a concealed wall in the classic ‘sliding bookcase’ style.
Guests - who were required to pick up a key card from reception to enter the ‘secret’ suite – arrived on a sunlit spring evening. Once night had fallen, we pulled back the tasting room’ curtains to reveal Mondrian London’s fabulous skyline view. As an additional touch, Made Up frosted the window with a Martell house texture, for additional elegant branding and to accentuate the vista.
